Authentic: Being Real

I recently received an email from a prominent parenting company entitled, “Be the envy of every parent you know”. This was a sales promotion for one of their online courses. I’m not here to bash on other parenting companies. There are other fantastic options out there and I’m all about doing what works for you (see the name Parenting, By You)! If I’m not 100% right for you, I wish you the best elsewhere.

That being said, I really dislike this kind of parenting message. The one that sounds like the goal of parenting is to be better than everyone else and puts other parents down; the one that’s focused on looking great in public / on social media; and the one that puts immense social pressure on parents to be some kind of perfect way.

The Parenting, By You message is all about:

  1. Parenting for the sake of our kids and to be the parents we want to be

  2. Lifting everyone up

  3. Being real - authentic, not public or picture perfect

  4. Keeping what works for you and discarding what doesn’t

If this message is for you, reach out for your free intro call. I can’t wait to partner with you in developing your style of parenting.
